A Welcome Message to Newly Selected Players

To our 2016 Players,

Congratulations and Welcome to the 2016 Mahwah Travel Baseball Season !

Take a second to thank your Parents for giving you this opportunity.   They will be bringing you to games, reminding you to grab a water, and asking you if you have all your equipment.  They will be cheering you on, and always there after the game regardless of outcome.

Although its cold outside we are about 2 weeks to the start of the 2016 Travel Baseball program start.   Soon we will begin winter workouts.  Show up dressed and ready to practice.  Your coach will be sharing more information with your parents.

For our newest players, you will have an opportunity to begin playing for the Mahwah Thunderbirds.  You will get to wear the "M" on your hat and put on the Carolina blue colors. The Mahwah "M" is one of the most respected hats in Travel Baseball.  Wear it proudly.  Build long term friends and memories.

For our returning players, welcome back. You know how important the winter workouts are, and we know that you are ready to get back to work.  Show your coach how prepared you are on day one.  We are at a new facility this year, closer to home and a better start time.  You will have a good time seeing old teammates and Mahwah alumni on the practice field.

For our Cooperstown year players - this is a very, very exciting year for you. You will always be part of a limited fraternity of Mahwah Travel Baseball Cooperstown Alumni.  Enjoy every minute of it.

Have a happy new year, and good luck in the 2016 Mahwah Travel Baseball Season.

Keith Savino
Mahwah Baseball Commissioner

Our goal is to provide a robust Travel Baseball program for our Mahwah youth. As coaches, we get to watch the players grow their baseball skills each year. As parents we are there for all the players on the field as they develop.

Understanding Primary and Alternate Roster Positions
Primary Roster Players -  This is the players primary team and primary coach.
Alternate Roster Players - This player has also been pre-selected as a "call-up" player for another team.  Alternate roster players are selected automatically based upon League Age Eligibility, or specifically selected due to a skill and specific area that will help to backup another Mahwah Travel Team. All league eligible players selected for a primary roster, who can play down, are automatically added the other team as an alternate roster player.
See Mahwah Travel rules for additional information on the topic.

Tournaments - are determined and communicated by your coach.
